Simple is better anyway

Starting over.  Starting at the beginning.  Simple is better anyway.

Last year I ventured into the realm of online foodies, got wrapped up, thought "I can do this," and went a little overboard.  "Bread Diaries" warped into more than it was ever meant to be, took too many rabbit trails, and was eventually left behind; not to mention my frustration with increasingly sloppy techniques and to be honest "learning on the fly" learning curve.

My bachelors is complete.  The move is finished.  And I'm seriously hankering to get back into bread baking.

So I'm starting over.  And I'm getting help.  Well at least I'm seeking help - who knows if help will actually come.  I figure there are lots of bread books out there and at least some of them should be able to offer some practical guidance.  After searching through some local book stores, I found Bread Matters by Andrew Whitley.  It's a beast-o-book and appears to be more than just recipes... and it was on clearance - so that always helps. (The image is a link to it's amazon.com page fyi)

I'm hoping that there will be theory and technique, if not we'll check out another of the many bread books out there.  And, yes, there are many...
